This may seem like a weird analogy but bear with me for a bit..
You know how when you taste something for the first time and you like it you say “wow, this is good.”
Well, this is a bit different..
I came into Victoria Schweizer’s Opening knowing what I was going to see. (Well, I knew about the art, other things food, etc were a pleasant surprise.) After all, I did check out her site and see the preview of the paintings she was going to display. But when I walked in I still said “wow, this is good.”
The pop art celebrity portraits were fairly large and you could actually see the famous and iconic faces from outside before you walked in. Once inside you notice that the colors and details are what really make the pop. And like Victoria herself said, “it’s fun!” She’s right. I might be a bit biased, but I like fun art, art that looks good, and art that requires skill, in no particular order. She hit the mark on all those and definitely has a knack for beauty, as one can tell from her work and style choices.
On a side note or maybe continuing the theme of things that taste good; the little cupcakes were damn good, and so was the wine. So was the crowd as a matter of fact…

She also unveiled her Steve Jobs portrait…RIP
